New Honorary Patron: Paul Wells

September 11, 2016

Dear Members of the Friends of the NACO,

At the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the NAC Orchestra, held Sunday September 11, it was my distinct privilege and pleasure to introduce the incoming Honorary Patron of FNACO – Paul A. Wells

Mr. Wells is a Canadian journalist and pundit, currently working as a National Affairs columnist with the Toronto Star. Previously, he was the Political Editor of Maclean’s magazine. In his 13 years at Maclean’s he won three gold National Magazine Awards. Last year he moderated Maclean’s national leaders’ debate, which drew more viewers than the two other English debates combined.

In February last year Paul held a very interesting pre-concert conversation at the NAC with Alexander Shelley. Together they introduced the 2015-16 season, displaying his comfort in discussing music with Shelley, and speaking in both official languages, and has held several pre-concert conversations this year.

Mr. Wells is deeply interested in promoting the Friends of NACO cause with the NAC and the general public. We are delighted to welcome him to the FNACO fold.
